Fed: Brown to push govt for indigenous compensation

Greens leader BOB BROWN says the federal government's apology to the indigenous stolen
generations must be accompanied by financial compensation.

On Wednesday Prime Minister KEVIN RUDD will formally say sorry to Aboriginal people
for the removal of indigenous children from their families.

Mr RUDD has ruled out paying compensation .. but has foreshadowed a major spending
package to improve Aboriginal health and education outcomes.

Senator BROWN says reparations should follow the apology .. because it's the right thing to do.
