QLD: Crane man rescued

Rescuers have freed a man who climbed a crane and got stuck at the Brisbane Cricket Ground
in the early hours of this morning.

Queensland's Fire and Rescue Authority was called in after police negotiators failed to
convince the the man to come down.

Police say just before 1am the man slipped while they were talking to him and and became
wedged in the crane's frame, more than 30m from the ground.

He was eventually brought down by vertical rescue officers and was taken to hospital for
observation.
